Francis Ford Coppola Claret 2008

This is what I decided to open last night. Truly a fantastic every wine drinking occasion.  When I am at home and just want a good bottle of wine either with dinner or by itself, this is a daily pick.  Claret is a term originally used by the British to describe Cabernet Sauvignon based wines such as Bordeaux.

The grapes our from the coastal regions throughout California. The blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Verdot, 5% Malbec, 3% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Corey Beck, is the winemaker.

My tasting notes lush fruits such as plums, dark fruit, cherries, some tobacco notes, very smooth tannins with intriguing spice nuances.

The bottle is easy to recognize with the gold netting which represents prestigious status. In this collection this is their flagship red wine. Give it a try, worth tasting.

This will remain one of my daily picks. My rating *** Price $14-$20
