Silver Oak Winery Visit & Tasting

This is such a fabulous winery to visit. The outside has a courtyard, a fountain and a water tower, the tasting building is timber-framed, with a beautiful stone fireplace inside and an incredible glass house library that will make you drool from all the vintages you see. The staff are super friendly and so much fun to taste with.  Known for their Cabernet Sauvignon, yes they are awesome.

We started with 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, intense nose of coffee and dark ripe fruits, mouth coating mid palate, lovely long finish with noticeable tannins. My rating **** Price $90-$110

Next was the 2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied yet refined. Black cherry on the nose, cloves lavender and cinnamon. Wonderful length velvety silky finish. My rating **** Price $75-$85

We finished with the 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Complex nose of boysenberry, truffles, and black pepper. The palate has a silky mouthfeel and a long enticing finish. You can tell this wine will just get better and better if stored properly.  My rating **** Price $90-$110

This is their wine library.

The winemaker is Daniel Baron known for his diligence and attention to detail.

Life is Cabernet!

Excellent wines that I always enjoy!
